Sometimes a guitar needs a bit of extra TLC. This 2000 Gibson Gothic Explorer had been stored for many years and unfortunately the elements got to it. Here’s how the guitar arrived in the shop:
There was a considerable amount of corrosion on the frets, and the fretboard itself had quite a bit of caked on grime. The buffer and a generous helping of elbow grease took care of that.
After removing the corrosion from the hardware (cotton swabs and elbow grease) and cleaning up the output jack, it was ready for the final setup. Here’s a quick before/after video:
